Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara Review

Hello Beautiful Butterflies!! And also, Happy New Year! I forgot to say that in my last few posts. Better late than never, right?

Today, I will be doing my first ever makeup review. What?? Crazy, right? I would have never thought I would be writing a review for a makeup product…

Today I will be reviewing the Esteé Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara. The mascara tube that I have is in the color Extreme Black – which is one of the two colors this product comes in. The other color is Extreme Brown. The tube of mascara is also $26.00.20150108_151237_resized20150108_151245_resized20150108_151250_resized

First of all, let’s talk about the packaging. On 75% of the mascara tube it has the Esteé Lauder logo – which is very pretty. The other 25% has the actual name of the product “Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara.” And then to the left of the name of the product is the Esteé Lauder logo but much smaller. All of the tube is in shiny gold, with matte black writing, and a shiny black ring. A lot of people probably wouldn’t like the tube itself because when you touch the tube it leaves finger prints; I do not mind too much about leaving finger prints on it because once I finish applying the product it goes back into my makeup case. The black and shiny gold color scheme makes me feel super luxurious, almost like a princess!

The brush wand is extraordinarily big and I am not going to lie, I was kinda intimidated by it at first. I felt like I was going to look like a panda bear when I was finished applying the product. I am also used to the rubber mascara wands more than I am the synthetic mascara wands. And with the Estee Lauder Sumpruous Extreme Lash mascara wand, it had the synthetic wand. And I have always heard to stay away from these types of wands in the past. However, I am here to say that I am not scared (but still wary) of the synthetic mascara wands because of this product.

Three Coats

Please ignore my dark circles, I haven’t been sleeping well. I also thought that if I just applied mascara, you could see my lashes better. As you can see by the first two pictures, the first coat of mascara look very natural. Not too long, not too volumizing, the product just coats my lashes. it would be perfect for people who want natural looking lashes. However if you picked up this product because of the “Lash Multiplying Volume” effect, the first coat is not what you are looking for.

By the second coat you can see a difference between the first coat and the second coat. My lashes are already longer and thicker by this point. You can also tell that this mascara gets into the hard-to-get corner lashes and separated my lashes very well.

I applied a third coat to make my lashes look thicker. This also made them a hair thicker. But in all honesty, there is not a dramatic change from the second coat and the third coat of mascara. The only difference is that my lashes look blacker.

It was around ten o’clock when I first applied this mascara. I did many things in order to give this mascara a good test. I did things that made me sweat: cleaning, light exercising, and walk dogs. I also did things that I would normally do: watched YouTube videos, watched movies, and played video games. And I also went out to eat.

Washing Mascara Off

I took off the mascara with The Body Shop Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. When I finally took the mascara off, it was around 12:30 AM. It took a little while to get it off and as you can see, most of it (about 95%) came off. But once I jumped into the shower and washed my face completely, the rest of the mascara came off.

So, what do I think about it?

I do actually like this product. I feel like the mascara does lengthen and somewhat volumizes. I really like that the mascara will last twelve hours and not flake off my lashes. I also noticed that the mascara doesn’t smudge on my top eyelids – which is a very big plus. If I spend a lot of time doing my eyeshadow, I don’t want it to get ruined by my mascara smudging over top of it. This mascara does separate lashes as well, which is always good. Every time I wear this mascara, I always get compliments on my lashes. They will either say “Are those you actual lashes? they are gorgeous!” or “Oh my goodness, your lashes are amazing!” I have been testing this product our for a couple of months now, and I do have to say that this product has not tried to dry at all at. The formula is still as wet as it was when I received it as a birthday gift. A few things I would be wary of, is that it did look like my bottom lashes were smudging on my lower eyelid area. So, I would not put this mascara on your bottom lashes. Another thing I would like to point out; Since there was not a significant different in the second coat and third coat of mascara, I wouldn’t apply any more coats than two or three. The only significant differences I did notice was that my lashes looked blacker and more spider-like. If you apply more coats of mascara, your eyelashes could try to crawl off of your face!

In conclusion, $26.00 US Dollars for a tube of Esteé Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara, it is pretty expensive but I would definitely repurchase this item! I would 100% recommend this to my friends and family as well.

**My grandparents bought this for me as a birthday gift because they knew how much I love makeup. **

Follow your dreams and never give up!!
